12 October 1890 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Sunday. 12th [October 1890]. We all went to church & afterwards Henry took Stella Dyer to the Academy & all the Du Canes. I came home. Ola & I went to the afternoon service. Mrs Hulton’s 2d girl was baptised. Nela & Mama fetched us away from church & brought us home. We had tea in the long hall—& then I wrote till dinner. Patience. Henry read aloud bits of an old Italian cookery book of 1590 wh he had borrowed from S. Marks library with wonderful details of that time. | |
