17 October 1890 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Friday. 17th October [1890]. Up as usual at 7 & I painted. Nela rowed Henry in sandolo to church to a meeting to decide about the organ that is coming. I wrote letters &c. After lunch went out in gondola with Henry, Mama & Nela & went to the Eden’s garden & Carry she gave me flowers. Home to tea– Read to Henry before dinner. Stella came to play trios & Trombini came with the news that Agostini could not come as he was kept by a patient. Curtis, Edens, Alwyne Comptons, Mrs Stanley, Clarke &c came. Stella played solos & did all she could to make up for the absence of Agostini– Richard & the girls returned from Longarone after dinner. We went to bed abt 11.30.
