31 October 1890 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Friday. 31st October [1890]. Painted all the morning. Henry & I went to luncheon with the Brownings at Pal. Rezzonico & there met the Douglas Murrays—walked home as we had to send the gondola to fetch Sir Dominic Colnaghi who arrived from Ravenna to stay with abt 3. I did not go out again—but the others did. Mrs Heneage & Miss Dulcie Vivian turned up at tea time being here for a few days. Then in came Mr & Mrs Felix Moscheles—she a very pretty little fair woman with a pretty little german accent. He a curious looking man short with grey hair & black moustache. They were anxious to see our pictures & stayed some time & Henry came down. I read aloud before dinner to Henry.
