8 November 1890 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Saturday. 8th [November 1890]. I washed my hair in the morning & so had my breakfast in the studio while it dried. Wet & dark day. Nela & I painted till past 12– I read aloud after lunch to Mama & Henry some of Coryat’s Crudities—till the latter went out with Nela– Mama & I remained at home. Mrs Eden came to see us & look over one of the fan books. After tea I read Coryat again till dinner time—& again after dinner—& we have nearly finished his account of Venice. We dined at 7 that the servants might go to the Opera– | |
