12 November 1890 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Wednesday. 12th November [1890]. Painted with Nela. Dr Cini vaccinated Ruth & our cook, the small pox being very prevalent here. After lunch went out in gondola with Henry & Mama to the Piazza where the band was playing & walked up & down. Returned home to tea– Mr Browning came & then Idita Bentivoglio & there was no time left to read aloud so I practised the guitar. The girls went to see Noce in the afternoon. Mr & Mrs Curtis, Mr Brown & Mr Jameson dined with us. | |
