28 November 1890 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Friday. 28th November [1890]. He had a better night but did not get up till afternoon. I was to have gone to lunch at the Brownings of course could not leave Henry so Sophie took the 2 girls & I had lunch in the studio. Read aloud to Henry. Cini came after 3 & said Henry might get up but not leave the room– Nela went to tea with him & I went down to tea with Sophie in drawing room– Mr Woods came to dinner & we went early to bed. Sophie’s arm bad with vaccine. | |
