29 November 1890 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Saturday. 29th November [1890]. Henry much better & got up abt 1.30. Miss Holas came & worked with him. I & Nela painted all morning. Mrs Eden came to call after luncheon & I went out walking with her & did a little shopping. The gondola met me at her house & brought me home. Cini came to see Henry & pronounced him cured. He saw Sophie Palmer’s vaccinated arm & said it was one of the best taken he had ever seen & that it was a blessing that she had had it done as she was very susceptable to take small pox. Read aloud to Henry. He dined upstairs & Sophie & I sat with him in the evening. The 2 girls went to “Carmen” with Mr Malcolm.
