13 January 1891 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Tuesday. 13th January [1891]. Passini came to proceed with Henry’s portrait. I painted in morning. I went out with Henry took a turn on the Piazza—enquired for Mrs Eden who arrived all well. Miss Jess More came to tea– The girls went out walking & went to see Mrs Browning. Nela had neuralgia & had to go to bed. I determined to write & say the girls could not join the fete on Saty & to send them to Countess Pisani’s to recruit. I read aloud to Henry after tea till dinner time. Had the band practise in evening. | |
