10 February 1891 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Tuesday. 10th [February 1891]. As Nela was not in till 3 A.M. she was not down till late. I got up to breakfast. Passini came & had a long morning’s work. I worked at the patterns & finished them & sent them to Blanche. Went out in gondola with Henry & Nela. They walked. I went to see Carry Eden & then fetched them home. We had no one to tea. I read aloud to Henry before dinner. Went to the Fenice an extra night for Oxilla’s benefit. Full house but not many people we knew. The “Cavalleria” given & Oxilla sang Spirto gentil from the Favorita. | |
