12 February 1891 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Thursday. 12th February [1891]. Passini came for his last sitting for the portrait in water colour of Henry. It is a most wonderful success & is a picture for he has done him sitting in his own library at his own table surrounded by his books & papers. I painted at a portrait I am doing of Nela– After lunch we had the guitar & mandola band practise, Mme & Mlle Stefani, the Dss della Grazia & Marie Lucchese Palli—& Edith Bronson came to it. I was not feeling well & directly after dinner I went to bed.
