11 April 1891 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Saturday. 11th April [1891]. Painted all morning. After lunch had a visit from Idita Bentivoglio & discussed the cotillion for Tuesday next making the men list. Had a visit from old Mrs Brackett & her daughter—who return to their villa at Como next week– Went out in gondola with Nela & Henry to the Edens garden & found them having tea for the 1st time there this spring. Edith Bronson & Maud & Guy Hammersley were also there. The daffodils & tulips were out & the garden begins to look pretty. It was not very warm & looked like rain—but there was none after all– Rested & read aloud to Henry from 6 to 8—& I went to bed almost directly after dinner & wrote there my notes & invitations Nela sitting with me–
