17 April 1891 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Friday. 17th April [1891]. Painted all morning & nearly finished my own portrait. At 3 went out with Henry & Nela in open gondola & went to see Biraghi & I came home early leaving the others to walk on the piazza. Had a lot of people to tea. The Curtis with their son & daughter in law—whom we had not seen before. Mrs Penrose FitzGerald & her sister Mrs Earle & 2 girls, Css Brandolin & Mlle Valier, her brother a Count Balbi Valier, also Sr Richere. I read aloud to Henry till dinner. In evening had our mandoline band practise to wh Edith Bronson came. We finished at 12– | |
