23 May 1891 — 1 Queen Anne Street | |
Saturday. 23rd May [1891]. I was tired & remained in bed. Henry got up as usual & went off to the Funeral. Maria came to see me & remained a long time in my room & I then got up to lunch. Edward came & sat with me while I was at lunch. Afterwards little Bertie & Gweneth Ponsonby came to see me. Henry returned abt 3.30 & just at that time Sir Henry Thompson came to call & sat some time with us & had tea with us. Connie also came with Bee & later Blanche came. After dinner Henry & I looked over some of his Uncle Austen’s old books some of which are beautifully illustrated. | |
