6 June 1891 — 1 Queen Anne Street
Saturday. 6th June [1891]. Went out at 11 to see Blanche & discuss patterns & work for her Irish home art. Then walked on to Mme Pratten’s & had a guitar lesson. It was cold & windy. Home to luncheon– Ruth lunched with us & accompanied Henry to Sarasate’s concert. Arthur Layard also came to luncheon. I had a visit from Sir Fk Burton who has just returned from Cassel where he has been to see Herr Habich’s pictures wh he is going to sell. I drove out at 3.30, left cards & found no one at home. I found it so cold & windy that I returned home at 4.30. Baroness Hierschel called at 5. Ruth & Henry also came back for tea. We dined with the Rates & met Sir Arthur Gordon & after dinner I played Halma with Mr Rate.
