20 August 1891 — 1 Queen Anne Street | |
Thursday. 20th August [1891]. Alice Murray was coming to luncheon but she telegraphed to put off till tomorrow. I walked out & shopped & returned for luncheon. Mama lunched with us. Mr Hankey’s carriage came for us at 3. I took Henry to Mr Murrays & leaving him there went on to see Mrs Burr who is in town for a couple of days. Sat an hour chatting with her & then went on shopping & came home to tea at 5. We dined with Mr Thomson Hankey & there met Mr George Russell, Sir Edward Thornton & Mr Jim Noel & Mr Harvey our host’s nephew. Very pleasant little party– Home early. Mr Hankey sent us his carriage to & from our house. | |
