23 August 1891 — En route to Lucerne | |
Sunday. 23rd August [1891]. Woke at Bale & breakfasted. Arrived soon after 4 & found Rosa at the station. She had got us rooms at H. St Gothard. Had lunch & rested. Sent Rosa off at 1.30 to Berne to see her family who live there—she is to join us tomorrow evening at Lausanne. Took a walk with Henry between the showers which followed a thunderstorm. Played patience. Dined at table d’hôte– Bed early. | |
