18 September 1891 — La Punta, Longarone | |
Friday. 18th September [1891]. Henry nearly all right today. Wrote letters & worked in the little anteroom. Had a long gossip with Css Michiel comparing life among the Italians & English & we agreed in being bored with Italian women owing to their want of education & the little stress that is laid on truth. Neither do they care for home or understand how to make their husbands love home. Lunch at 1– Read Creighton aloud before tea. Took a drive towards Belluno with Malchie & Ct Max Michiel. Home at 6. Read again before dinner– | |
