11 October 1891 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Sunday. 11th October [1891]. I went to morning service & again at 3.30. Mr & Mrs Medlycott & their girl came to tea & brought his sketches to show us. He is an artist & has been a clergyman & had to give up for bad health. His watercolours are good. Mrs Hulton also came—& later Mme de Hurtado—also Mr Malcolm. I read aloud to Henry for an hour before dinner. We went out for a row in evening. It was quite a hot day & lovely moonlit night.
