22 October 1891 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Thursday. 22nd [October 1891]. Painted while Ola read aloud. Mrs Hodgson came to call. After lunch Mr Williams came with Henry & me in the gondola, & we went round by the book binder’s to see abt some books & then to the Armenian Convent joining the girls & Dacre who were in the sandolo. It has been cloudy all day but the sun came out & there was a lovely sun set. Ruth came back with Henry & me the rest in sandolo. Mr Malcolm came to tea & sat a long time with us. Sir Domenic Colnaghi arrived from Milan to stay with us. | |
