23 October 1891 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Friday. 23rd October [1891]. I painted. After lunch we went to the Lido. In the morning there had been a white fog but it cleared off & we had a splendid afternoon & walked from S. Elisabetta to 4 Fontane by the sea shore. Henry, Ruth, Sir Dom & I went in gondola the others in sandolo. I read aloud before dinner. The young people went out after dinner. Mr Malcolm dined with us. When the girls came home Ola & I played a mandola & guitar duett. | |
