24 October 1891 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Saturday. 24th October [1891]. I worked hard all the morng cut out & made a dressing gown for poor Mme Cortelazzo & with Ruth’s help & the sewing machine got it done to send by afternoon post. After lunch we all went to Murano to the glass works to see the opening of the “padella” in wh they had just made some “aventurnia” glass. It was always a chance whether it would turn out to be good & for the last 2 years none had been successful. This turned out excellent & they proceeded to use a bit of it for making a vase wh was to be given to Ola. Home to tea. Ida Bel: came to tea. We dined early & went Henry, Sir Domenic & I to the theatre to see “I fastidi di un grand’omo.” Most amusing & well acted.
