4 November 1891 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Wednesday. 4th November [1891]. We all 4 went by 10 oclock train to Vescovana to stay with Css Pisani whilst our carpets are being put down & the double windows put in– We took John the footman & Bertha the cook with us that she may learn Italian dishes. We arrived at V. for 1 o’clock luncheon– A cold bright day. Sat talking & working all afternoon with Css. Henry & girls walked in the garden. After tea I read aloud to Henry till dinner at 7. Halma & mandola & guitar music in evening. | |
