7 December 1891 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Monday. 7th December [1891]. I painted all the morning & we lunched at 1 & went off directly after to the Lido. Henry, Maria & I in gondola—Ola & Nela came in the sandolo & brought Miss Garrett with them. It was a splendid day & we walked by the sea shore landing at Favorita to S. Elisabetta. The sea was without a ripple & quite blue & Maria amused herself picking up shells of wh we found a quantity the tide being low. We got home abt 4. Mr Hodgson came to tea– I read aloud to Henry till dinner time. | |
