27 December 1891 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Sunday. 27th [December 1891]. Henry had a bad night & remained in bed. I got up at 8.30 & breakfasted in the studio– Ola went to church. I waited on Henry all day & after 5 he got up & sat in the armchair in the bedroom. We dined upstairs in his study & sat in the bedroom. I read aloud to him before dinner– Early to bed– News from London that Ruth & Maria had arrived safely but found a thick fog which had lasted 4 days. | |
