17 January 1892 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Sunday. 17th January [1892]. Went to church morng & afternoon. Weather foggy again. I went to the Pension Suisse to see after Mrs Burr who is in bed & I fear has influenza. I had sent to Dr Cini to beg him to go to her. I found her very feverish & weak & having taken nothing all day so I at once gave her an egg & some port & then went to join Henry at two at the Edens—delighted to have them back & having much to say to them. Mr Malcolm & Mr & Mrs Browning dined with us. Mrs Mackie continues very ill–
