1 February 1892 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Monday. 1st February [1892]. Fine day which later on turned to fog. Henry has a cold & did not go out. I painted fan & Ola read aloud to me in morning. After lunch I went out to pay visits & found Css Brassà at home– She is very pleasant half English & very friendly. I went thence to pick up Ida Bel: & we went on to Duchess della Grazia whose day it was—& met a lot of people there—then came home & had a visit from Mme Hellenbach—& also a young Mr Pardo the son of the Spanish Consul here. In evening we went to Css Papadopoli’s ball– Ola & I & Pss Olga of Montenegro—& remained till 2.30– It was not a great ball & was not a very late affair.
