2 February 1892 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Tuesday. 2nd February [1892]. Henry woke up with a cold but got up all the same. I got up late being tired. Ola had a headache & remained all day in bed– Henry did not go out. Paolo has a bad cold suspiciously like influenza. I went out in afternoon & went to see Carrie Eden who has just recovered from Influenza– Mr Eden has also a cold. At 4 I went to call for Ida Bel & we went to see Mme Sormani Moretti who is “at home” on Tuesdays & who lives out at the S. Maria del Orto. Met there several people—amongst whom Mme Alice Levi whose acquaintance I met—a Jewess much admired here. Read aloud to Henry & began the Memoires de Saint Simon. Sent for Cini who pronounces Paolo to have Influenza.
