10 February 1892 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Wednesday. 10th February [1892]. It being a fine spring day Ola & I were seized with a gardening mania & we turned out all the plants in the Belvedere died & went down to the Front door & washed the leaves of the lemon plants with soap & water wh took us nearly all the morning to do. Mrs Humberston came before luncheon for a little while to fetch her sister Miss Ffoulkes who was working at the book with Henry. It was fine but still rather blowy today. I went out with Henry after lunch to the Eden’s garden & we walked there. Home to tea. Css Schio & her daughter called– The Belmondos & Hilda Montalba dined & Henry took Ola, Hilda & Ct Belo to the theatre, Ida remaining with me.
