11 February 1892 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Thursday. 11th [February 1892]. I wrote letters. Practised guitar & mandola with Ola. I went out directly after lunch to call on Mme Besozzi. She being out I went to Hotel Victoria to call on the Velles & saw them. I sent back the gondola for Henry. He joined me & we on to walk in Eden’s garden. I called on Miss Sharp & saw her. She is well & leaves on Saty for Florence. Had a good many people to tea. Idita Bentivoglio came with her Uncle Mr Perry. Idita said she had seen Dr Cini & asked about the Pss of Montenegro. He says she has a pleuropulmonite & hopes her strength will carry her thro’. I fear very much for the result & wrote [to] offer Olga to send her some port wine for her mother & she accepted it. M. & Mme Jonin also came to tea. She is a Montenegrin & her husband Russian sent to the sanitary commission. In the evening Ola & I went to the Albrizzi dance—but I was very sad abt the Pss of Montenegro & Ola tired so we came home before 12.
