25 February 1892 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Thursday. 25th February [1892]. I breakfasted in bed. Spent rather an idle morning & got up late– Practised guitar with Ola’s mandola. Very wet day again– We have not seen the sun since last Thursday! I went out to see the Edens who were at home. Went also to see Mlle Aspasie who is recovering but is still in bed. Her blind old mother was sitting beside her & Mme Hellenbach was also there. The Dss della Grazia came to tea. I read aloud to Henry. Mr Malcolm dined & took Ola to the Fenice to hear Othello (Verdi’s) which was given with a new cast & promised to be good. I wrote yesterday to Css Pisani to ask her to have Ola to stay with her & she telegraphed & wrote to say yes—so we decide to send her on Saturday.
