2 March 1892 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Wednesday. 2nd [March 1892]. Ash Wednesday. Breakfasted in our room & I went off to 11 o’cl church– Home by 12. The Belmondos came to meet the English V. Consul so that they might sign some papers & Henry witnessed for them. Trombini also came about a piano Ida Bel wants to buy, After lunch I went out to see the Edens. Henry’s finger was painful & he did not go. I went to pick up Ida & we went to Piazza shopping & I came in at 5. Css Giulia Persico & Mme Bisozzi came to tea & afterwards the Dss della Grazia & Maria. I read aloud to Henry before dinner. There was a light thunderstorm during dinner & then abt 10 a strong wind got up. We went early to bed. | |
