22 May 1892 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Sunday. 22nd May [1892]. Went to morning service & I took Carrie Eden to her house & then Ida Bel. After lunch Mr Victor Williamson took leave of us & went to rejoin the Archbishop of York & return to England. Ola & I went to afternoon service at ¼ past 3 & then she & I went in sandolo to the Favorita to rejoin the rest of the party who had gone to S. Elizabetta & walked by the shore to the Favorita. There we made tea & sat & enjoyed a lovely evening looking out to sea. The young people amused themselves in poking unfortunate crickets out of their holes & Baby brought them home to keep in a cage as the Venetians do. We came home just in time for dinner. The Belmondos dined with us– All went out after dinner but Ida Bel & I who remained together.
