15 June 1892 — 1 Queen Anne Street
Wednesday. 15th June [1892]. Was very tired & breakfasted in bed. Our housemaid Mary left us—& Mary Ball’s reign began. Lady Gregory came to see us. It was rather a trying meeting on both sides—as we had not met since Sir Wm died. She is looking well. She remained to luncheon leaving directly after– I drove out with Blanche. We went to Mme Rigal’s to try on our dresses & then on to Albert Hall where I had to help to judge the needle work of the Home Arts Exhibition at which Blanche had Irish work. Lady Wentworth helped & also a Mrs Evelyn Murray & a Revd Mr Dawson. The show is a woefully poor one this year. Got home after 6 & very tired.
