26 June 1892 — 1 Queen Anne Street | |
Sunday. 26th June [1892]. Kate & I walked off to Westmoreland Street to Mr Haweis Chapel & heard him preach an excellent sermon. He gave notice that those who wished to purchase his sermon on spirits might buy “Light” in the vestry after the service—so we went & got 2 copies & were surprised to find that Haweis is a believer in Spiritualism. After church we went to see Blanche & then came home to lunch. Visits from Sir Henry Thompson, Sir Arthur Gordon, Sir Arthur Otway, Richard Du Cane, Mrs Bagot, Mr Nicholas Ball. Dined alone only Kate & Augusta Gregory. | |
