30 June 1892 — 1 Queen Anne Street | |
Thursday. 30th June [1892]. Kate & I drove in afternoon & I found Lady Du Cane at home & there we found Molly Alderson. We came home for tea & afterwards Kate & I walked to 35 Wimpole St to see Lady Thompson & found her at home & her 2 daughters & her son with her. Henry & I dined with Mr Clark– Met Sir Fred & Lady Knight, the Fletchers of Saltoun & Mr & Lady Elizabeth (she daughter of the Duke of Argyll). Sir F. Knight took me to dinner. We waited a long time for Lord & Lady Aberdare who never came at all. There was a soirée afterwards but it was very dull & we hastened home to bed. | |
