5 October 1892 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Wednesday. 5th October [1892]. Superintended the work woman & busy about the house. Directly after lunch Henry & I went in sandolo with Ola rowing & the 2 boys Gigi & Beppe to Lido. Landed at the Favorita & walked by the shore to S. Elizabetta where the sandolo met us. Still warm weather but a change threatens. Home to tea at 5. We amused ourselves all day with watching a wedding party going on from 8 this morning at the hide merchant’s Viterbo opposite us. Late we could hear the Evvivas of the wedding party. Dinner at 7.30 & Henry & Ola went out. I played patience & went early to bed. | |
