7 October 1892 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Friday. 7th [October 1892]. Had a telegram in answer saying she would be very glad to see us. Weather settled again. Went to the Eden’s garden after lunch with Henry & Mr Colvin. Ola fetched me home in sandolo by 5 as I had asked Miss Violet Paget to tea but she did not come. Had a visit from Count Canevaro. Read aloud to Henry. Dined at 7 & went to the Rossini theatre to see “Prima al sindocco poi al piovan” in which Zago, Borisi & Privato acted. It was Borisi’s benefit—& she played very well & it was amusing. Ola was tired & had to go home in the middle of it. | |
