16 October 1892 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Sunday. 16th October [1892]. Went to church in the morning with Miss Cadogan, Ola & Miss Sharp. Mr Colvin lunched out & Mr Malcolm lunched with us. Ct Seckendorff came over after lunch and asked me to go to church with the Empress & took me across there. Henry, Mr Colvin, Miss Cadogan went to church in our own gondola & Ola & Miss Sharp in sandolo. I came with Pss Margaret & the Empress. It began to rain afterwards so we all had to give up walking & H.M. came to our house to have tea. En route we passed Prince Fred. Charles in a gondola & he got into our gondola. Baron Knesebeck the ADC also followed us & the Kentsfords who were also at church came. The Empress stayed till past 5 & then went away to walk. Henry walked with the Kentsfords. Mr Hulton came to call. Mr Malcolm dined with us. Mr Colvin took the 3 ladies to the Piazza to hear the band after dinner. | |
