25 October 1892 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Tuesday. 25th October [1892]. Was very tired & did not get up till lunch or go out at all. Ola & Miss Cadogan went to tea at Css Pisani & there met the Empress. Miss Sharpe, Henry & I had tea together & then I read aloud to him. Mrs Dyer & Stella came to dinner & we persuaded them to come here & stay with us as they have bad rooms at the hotel and Stella is very delicate but I had to insist as they did not want to come on acct of Stella’s violin practise wh she said would disturb us. I promised to put them downstairs. | |
