30 December 1892 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Friday. 30th [December 1892]. Wrote letters in morning. After lunch I went out with Henry to the Piazza. Monty & Ola lunched with Mrs & Mr Hulton & we met in the Piazza where the band was playing. Ola went straight home in gondola & Monty remained with us & walked & we stayed for 2 pieces Bizet’s Arlesienne & a Potpourri of Mignon—& then came home to tea. Ida & Ct Belmondo came & stayed a long time discussing a party I am to give to the Dss of Genoa to hear Stella play the violin. I read aloud to Henry before dinner. | |
