15 January 1893 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Sunday. 15th January [1893]. I went to church morng & afternoon. Mr Penrice had help from a clergyman & himself played the organ—& very well– It was cold but the sun came out in the afternoon. Malcolm was better & Astolfi sent to say we might send the letters as Cini said he might read letters but not answer them. Stella came to read to Henry. I had a visit from Maria Cozzi who told me that Ersilia is going to dine with the Dss of Genoa being the first time she has gone out in the evening since her boy Dicky died. Was pleased to hear it as a sign that she is recovering her health & spirit. Tirindelli also came to tea & to say he could not play in the Trios we wished to have this week as he is as hard at work writing an opera &c.
