29 January 1893 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Sunday. 29th January [1893]. I did not wake until 11 so breakfasted in bed. We all 3 went to lunch with the Dyers at Ca’ Alvisi. Mr Brown was there. Mr Vine came in after. Went from there to afternoon service & Ola & I walked home– The frost has finally broken up & it rained last night & also a little today. Had tea upstairs & lay on the sofa reading. Stella came & read to Henry. Mrs Browning & Mr Penrice dined with us—but left early. I played the harmonium. | |
