4 March 1893 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Saturday. 4th March [1893]. Another lovely day. Henry went in the morning to the Genl Rehearsal at the Liceo to hear Stella & came back most satisfied. Gabrielle Luchese Palli came to me in the morning to have a guitar lesson. After luncheon I went over to see Astolfi about some silver to be sold wh Mr Eden wanted to hear about—then Henry & I went out to call on Ida Belmondo & to the Edens garden & walked– There was a marvellous change there since the rain cape japonica & crocuses out & it looks like spring. Came home at 5. After tea I read aloud to Henry St Simon till dinner. We are in a very interesting part—the sketch of Mme de Maintenon. Dined alone. Patience.
