20 November 1893 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Monday. 20th [November 1893]. I breakfasted in my room & went off at 9 to the studio to meet Mr Woods who set me to work on a study of a handsome Venetian girl Caterina la Moro dressed in a peasant’s costume with a distaff in her hand. Nela joined me later– We returned home at 12.30 I just drew in the figure in brown. After lunch I went with Henry, Pamela & Nela in the gondola to see after Mr Clark’s chimney piece. I came in early & wrote to Fanny Browning. Miss More called & then Ersilia Canevaro & she & Pamela Bruce sang together duetts—& Ola & I played guitar & mandola. Mr Dyer dined with us. Mrs D. & Stella are still at St Moritz.
