9 January 1894 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Tuesday. 9th January [1894]. I went to the studio & looked in on the old lady who is still ill. I got her at the chemist a mustard leaf to put where she said she felt a pain—gave her some hot coffee, wrapped her up in a bit of flannel & left her. Miss Holas lunched with us & she & Ola went out walking– Mr & Mrs Carey’s 3 little girls & Mrs Hultons 2 came to tea with us. Ola, Miss Holas & Olga Montenegro helped to amuse them. They had games, tea & a bran pie with presents in it– They left abt 7. Olga remained to dinner & played the piano in the eveng.
