19 January 1894 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Friday. 19th January [1894]. Foggy morning & a thaw. I went to the studio & worked on “Regina”– Henry sent the gondola to fetch me home & I did not go out again. Ola was not well at breakfast & had to go to bed. Henry went out in afternoon & rather increased his cold. There is a great deal of influenza about & Signor Fambri is said to be dying of double pulmonite. Count de Brazza came to tea & Mr & Mrs Carey– Ct & Css Lutzow came to dinner & we were just 4 & had a pleasant evening–
