21 January 1894 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Sunday. 21st January [1894]. Had rather a cold so I remained in bed & wrote a lot of letters. Got up for lunch. Ct & Css Lutzow came to lunch & afterwards went up to Henry’s library & to my room to see my lace box &c & then I played the guitar & sang to Css Lutzow & Ct L. went home on foot. Ola went to church & then came back & took the Css to call on Mrs Hulton. I had a visit from Css Vera Brazzà whom I am getting to like very much. Later M. Montalba came. I wrote letters before dinner. We have settled to start on Tuesday for Naples. I played the harmonium in the evening.
