25 March 1894 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Sunday. 25th March [1894]. Easter Sunday. Henry went to church with us & the singing went very well & there was a large congregation. After church we took Mrs Eden to her house. Afternoon Nety & Henry & I went out in gondola to the Piazza. Went in to S. Mark’s & saw the Palla d’Oro which is always left open on high fête days. The band played & as it was fine weather there were crowds in the streets. Henry went home in gondola. Nety & I walked to S. Angelo & were fetched across by the gondola. Expected Ersilia Canevaro to see me at 6 but she did not come. | |
