4 April 1894 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Wednesday. 4th April [1894]. I sent off early to tell Mrs Eden we are off & she came at once & was very kind & reassuring & hopeful, but I feel terribly low– However I had to keep up & luckily had plenty to do, arranging, packing &c &c. We lunched at 1—& then all except Miss Green went off to the station & we started for Milan by 2.5 train. It was a lovely day. The fruit trees were all in flower & near Milan the chestnut trees in leaf. We went to the Hotel Cavour & had our usual little rooms in the entresol No 14. 15. Dined & went to bed & got some troubled sleep.
