14 April 1894 — 1 Queen Anne Street
Saturday. 14th April [1894]. Got up by 11. Practised guitar. Sir Henry Thompson came to see Henry about 4 & said he might get up on Monday for 2 or 3 hours & come into my bedroom. Issie Du Cane came to tea with me & I walked out with her afterwards. It was cold & rained a little. Outside our door I met Mr Herbert Thompson coming to call on me—so he turned & walked with us & we went on to Maria’s & found her at home & paid her a visit. I went afterwards to 17 Cavendish Square just to see Mama & give her the good report of Henry. Lady Huntsford called on me today & asked me to go to tea with her on Monday. Mr Rate also came to see Henry at 7.30– I dined alone & read aloud to Henry afterwards Pasquier’s Memoires.
